Meet Your Nurse...
Beth Vickers
Founder & Director of The Drip Company Limited.
BN (Hons) Adult Nursing.
Hello! My name is Beth and I am a Registered Nurse having qualified in 2018.

My professional background is rooted in palliative care and community nursing.

After receiving a diagnosis of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in 2021, I felt inspired to explore holistic care and wellness. This led me to establish The Drip Company, a clinic dedicated to helping people feel their best through intravenous therapy and vitamin injections.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and support your wellness journey!

What is Intravenous Therapy?
Intravenous (IV) therapy involves the administration of essential fluids, vitamins, minerals, and nutrients directly into your bloodstream, allowing for faster absorption and more immediate effects than oral supplements. Oral supplements and vitamins have an absorption rate of 20-50%, compared with 90-100% absorption when administered via an IV. This customised treatment is designed to meet your body's unique needs, providing hydration, replenishing essential nutrients, and promoting overall well-being.
How Can IV Therapy Benefit You?
Whether you're looking to boost your energy, recover from a tough workout, enhance your immune system, or combat fatigue and dehydration, IV therapy can help! It's an effective solution for re hydrating your body, improving mental clarity, supporting skin health, and even promoting quicker recovery from illness and hangovers. I can advise and recommend an IV therapy, specific to your health goals, ensuring you feel revitalised and ready to take on whatever comes next!

Our treatments are solely for wellness and rejuvenation purposes, to support overall health and well-being. We recommend consulting with your Doctor prior to receiving any treatment. Please note, some medical conditions (outlined below in the Intravenous Administration Policy) require written permission from a Doctor or Specialist Healthcare provider before proceeding with any treatment.

All clients are required to complete a comprehensive health assessment prior to any administration of IV therapy to ensure treatment is appropriate for their individual needs.

Policies
Unsuccessful Venepuncture Policy
At The Drip Company Ltd, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care and service to our clients. In the rare event of unsuccessful venepuncture attempts, we offer a full refund for the procedure and treatment. By booking an appointment with us, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

Intravenous Administration Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients by outlining the specific conditions under which IV therapy may be contraindicated. Certain medical conditions require prior, written approval from a healthcare provider before proceeding with any treatment.
To safeguard and provide optimal care, the following conditions require written permission from the client's treating physician before receiving IV therapy at our clinic:

1. Cancer Patients Receiving Active Treatment
Cancer treatments, particularly chemotherapy and radiation, can significantly weaken a patient's immune system, damage blood vessels, and cause electrolyte imbalances.

2. Severe Kidney Disease
IV fluids can put stress on compromised kidneys, especially in patients with end stage renal disease or those undergoing dialysis. Excess fluid buildup can lead to serious complications, such as, pulmonary oedema and heart failure.

3. Heart Failure
Patients with heart failure often have fluid retention problems. Administering IV fluids to them can overload the heart and cause pulmonary oedema, thus worsening their condition.

4. Uncontrolled Diabetes
Patients with uncontrolled diabetes can experience complications such as dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and poor wound healing. IV therapy, especially glucose-based solutions, can affect the blood sugar levels.

5. Acute Infections or Sepsis
If a client is experiencing an active infection or sepsis, introducing an IV can complicate the condition further.

6. Dehydration or Electrolyte Imbalances
In some cases, if a client is severely dehydrated or has a major electrolyte imbalance, administering IV fluids without addressing these imbalances can exacerbate the issue.

7. Blood disorders (Hemophilia, Blood Clotting Disorders)
Blood disorders can lead to difficulty in stopping bleeding, especially if the IV needle causes any damage to the veins. Hemophilia or other clotting disorders may lead to excessive bleeding at the injection site or within the veins.

8. Severe Liver Disease
Clients with severe liver disease may have problems with fluid regulation and could be at risk of fluid retention or ascites. The liver also plays a critical role in metabolising medications, and altered liver function can affect how IV medications or fluids are processed.

9. Clients On Steroids
Steroids can impact immune function, fluid balance, electrolyte levels and overall health, which may effect the safety and efficacy of IV treatment.

IV therapy will not be administered to pregnant clients under any circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer your reserved time to other clients. Cancellations or rescheduling made less than 24 hours in advance, may result in a non-refundable cancellation fee. We kindly ask that you respect this policy to help us maintain a smooth and efficient schedule for all our clients.
